According to Entrepreneur, we receive 193.3 billion emails every day. On average, that means each person's inbox is hit by about 120 emails a day – with some people receiving less and some receiving many more. Breaking through to your target audience when you're up against such odds can be tough. Even with all the inbox competition, email marketing can be quite lucrative when handled correctly. 

Unfortunately, we find a lot of salespeople who believe that saying anything negative about their performance on a sales call is a bad thing. This makes the manager's ability to debrief mistakes and coach for improvement very difficult.

Asking your prospect all the correct questions is wasted if you don't hear what he or she says, either in words or more subtly in tones or partial hints. Being a good listener requires more than just keeping quiet while the other person is talking.

Only customers whose needs fit with the company's core offerings are likely to establish a relationship that generates profit. It is critical for you to plan and implement sales strategies that will enable your sales force to gain, retain, and profit from long-term relationships with "good fit" customers.

When you interact with clients, they should be doing at least 70% of the talking, which means you're doing at least 70% of the listening. Listening is crucial for effective sales-it's the only way you'll learn what your prospect or client REALLY needs.

Reinforcing behavior that we actually want people to end is called enabling. The salesperson has several strategies s/he can employ to stop enabling prospects to abuse the selling relationship.
